Jeff Hancock:  After a productive semester on sabbatical in Argentina working on the understanding of digital deception,  Jeff returned to several NSF funded grants.  His first award, a $1.8 million dollar NSF grant in the National Security, Cooperation and Conflict division entitled "Modeling Discourse and Social Dynamics", has Jeff working closely with collaborators at the University of Memphis and University of Texas, Austin.

Jeff also received the Provost Award for Distinguished Scholarship this year, this $15,000 award is designed to recognize research and scholarship by outstanding tenured faculty members early in their careers.  In doing so, the University is given the opportunity to recognize its own talented researchers.

Along with these outstanding accomplishments, Jeff has assumed the roll of Director of Graduate Studies.  In an effort to revamp the program, and continue the Department of  Communication as a cutting edge research department, Jeff has been hard at work restructuring the design of the Graduate Program.
