Congratulations to Dr. Geri Gay, who has been honored with the 2009 College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Research and Extension Award for Outstanding Service to the CALS Community.
Quoting from Dean Henry's letter: "This award recognizes the importance of [Geri's] myriad contributions to CALS as Chair of the Department of Communication, Co-Director of the Institute for the Social Sciences,
and Director of the Human-Computer Interaction Group. . . . The Awards Committee noted that [Geri] is credited with building the Department of Communication into one of the best communication research departments in the country and . . . [has] forged innovative linkages with Weill-Cornell Medical College and the Johnson Museum, thereby enhancing the stature of the College throughout the University."
The Research and Extension Awards were presented on November 2.
